Online Counseling is a Hit

People are benefiting from teletherapy more than ever

As we approach the five-year mark of exclusively using teletherapy or online counseling for all sessions, it has become clear how beneficial this shift has been for both my clients and myself. The flexibility and enhanced privacy that teletherapy offers have been particularly appealing to clients. Many have expressed their appreciation for not having to make the trip to my office, which saves them time and simplifies their schedules. This is especially valuable for those with demanding work or family commitments. For clients who live farther away, the convenience of teletherapy is even more pronounced, as it removes geographical barriers and opens up access to care that might otherwise be out of reach.

From my perspective as a therapist, I’ve realized that I can assist more people than ever before because teletherapy makes it easier to meet regularly and consistently. Online counseling has also brought unexpected rewards. During virtual sessions, I’ve often had the chance to meet my clients’ pets or receive virtual tours of their homes, which helps me connect with them on a more personal level. These insights into their environments have allowed me to understand my clients more deeply, sometimes more so than when we were confined to the traditional office setting.

As we continue to move forward, I’m excited about the future of online counseling and the opportunities it presents. The flexibility, convenience, and personal connections it fosters make me confident that this method of therapy will remain a valuable tool in my practice.

Types of therapy my clients have found to be most helpful with online counseling:

Couples Therapy
Anger Management
Stress Management
Sex Therapy
