Stress Management App based on EMDR

Here is an app based in research that helps a lot of people. I find it to be personally helpful. Unfortunately its only for Iphone, but its free!

WeMind CID
A simple, science-backed tool to calm your body and brain

What is WeMind CID?

WeMind CID is a free app that uses gentle left-right eye movements to help reduce emotional overwhelm, anxiety, and stress. It’s based on the same neuroscience used in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), but it doesn’t require you to talk about anything upsetting. You just follow the visual cue and let your brain do the rest.

Why It Helps

When you’re anxious, shut down, or reactive, your nervous system is likely in fight/flight or freeze mode. The eye movements in CID help your brain return to a calmer, more balanced state by:

✅ Soothing emotional intensity
✅ Helping you feel more present
✅ Allowing for better focus and connection
✅ Supporting transitions—from stress to safety, from shutdown to openness

When to Use CID

You can use the app whenever you feel:

Overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally flooded
Stuck in worry, shame, or perfectionism
Reactive in an argument or tough conversation
Disconnected before intimacy or vulnerable moments
Overstimulated after a stressful day or event

It works well before sessions, after sessions, or anytime you need to reset.

How to Use It

Download the WeMind CID app (iOS only)
Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions
Watch the dot move left and right—let your eyes follow it
Allow yourself to notice any shifts (breath, thoughts, body)
Use for a few minutes, or until you feel more centered

It’s okay if you don’t feel a big change at first—this is a tool that gets more familiar with practice.

This tool is one of many ways to support your well-being. It’s not about avoiding emotions—it’s about giving your brain a way to settle when things feel too intense. If you ever feel confused, disconnected, or unsure how to use CID, we can walk through it together.

Feel free to try it before your next session or anytime between appointments when you need a moment of calm.
