Rules for Fair Fighting: Couples Therapy
Frequently Asked Questions about the Marriage Counseling and Couples Therapy Program
Is your relationship too tough? Do you feel your communication just isn’t working? Money arguments? Maybe your needs are not being met? I can help with counseling.
It’s agonizing to feel like your relationship is slipping away. Those once-effortless conversations now feel strained, filled with unspoken resentments and a growing distance. The intimacy you once shared, both physical and emotional, may feel like a distant memory. You might find yourself withdrawing, feeling lonely even when you’re together. The pain of feeling disconnected from your partner, the person you once shared everything with, can be incredibly isolating. If infidelity has entered the picture, the pain cuts even deeper. The sense of betrayal, the shattered trust, and the uncertainty about the future can leave you feeling lost and heartbroken. You may be grappling with intense emotions, like anger, sadness, confusion, and even a sense of self-blame. It’s a heavy burden to carry, and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next.
In the midst of this turmoil, it’s easy to feel like you’re the only one going through this. But the truth is, relationship challenges and infidelity are more common than you might think. Many couples struggle with communication breakdowns, intimacy issues, and the pain of betrayal. You’re not alone in this. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. It takes courage to reach out and acknowledge that you need support to navigate these difficult waters. Therapy can provide a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your emotions, understand the underlying issues, and begin the healing process.
The couples therapy and marriage counseling program provides private sessions to each couple who wants to learn to better their relationship. Since I am an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, we can address sexual concerns, if needed.
The program focuses on the couple’s goals, such as developing a plan for communication, meeting each other’s needs, finding better ways to work though problems, and addressing financial and sexual issues.
It is also important to point out that individual counseling for one or both partners is available. Sometimes, there needs to be private counseling sessions to ready the couple for couples therapy, such as stress and anger management therapy. Also, individual counseling can be a great supplement to the couples sessions. The bottom line is–Lets do what works!
