VSee Messenger Directions for Teletherapy

Step-by-Step Guide: VSee Messenger Account Setup and App Preparation for Online Counseling

VSee Messenger is the app we use for our online therapy sessions. Setting it up correctly is key to having a smooth and clear conversation.

Part 1: Downloading the VSee Messenger App

First, you need to get the VSee Messenger app onto your phone or tablet.

  1. Choose Your Device:
  • If you have an iPhone (Apple device):
  • Open the “App Store” app on your iPhone (it’s a blue icon with a white ‘A’ in a circle).
  • Then, tap on this link directly: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vsee-messenger/id722630830
  • On the VSee Messenger app page, look for a button that says “GET” or has a cloud icon with a down arrow. Tap this button. You might need to confirm with your fingerprint, face ID, or Apple ID password.
  • If you have an Android Phone (like Samsung, Google Pixel, LG, etc.):
  1. Wait for the Download:
  • The app will now download and install on your device. This might take a minute or two, depending on your internet speed.
  • Important Note: Make absolutely sure you download “VSee Messenger” and NOT “VSee Clinic.” VSee Messenger is the correct app for clients. Using a mobile device (phone or tablet) is generally recommended, as computer video quality can sometimes be lower.

Part 2: Creating Your VSee Messenger Account

Once the app is installed, you need to open it and create your personal VSee account.

  1. Open the VSee Messenger App:
  • After the app finishes installing, you’ll see an “Open” button in the App Store/Google Play Store, or you can find the new VSee Messenger icon on your phone’s home screen or app list.
  • Tap on the VSee Messenger icon to open the app.
  1. Start Account Creation:
  • The app will likely ask you to “Sign Up” or “Create Account.” Tap on this option.
  • It might ask for permission to access your microphone and camera. You must allow these permissions for our video calls to work. Tap “Allow” or “OK” when prompted.
  1. Enter Your Information:
  • You will be asked to provide some details to create your account. This typically includes:
  • Your Name: Enter your full name.
  • Your Email Address: Use an email address you check regularly.
  • Create a Password: Choose a strong password that you will remember. It’s a good idea to mix capital letters, small letters, numbers, and symbols. Write it down in a safe place if you need to.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the registration. You might need to agree to “Terms of Service” or “Privacy Policy.”
  1. Verify Your Account (If Prompted):
  • Sometimes, VSee will send a verification email to the email address you provided.
  • If you receive such an email, open it and click the verification link inside to confirm your account. This is a common security step for new accounts.

Part 3: Adding Me to Your VSee Messenger Contacts

This is a crucial step to make sure we can connect for your session. You need to add my contact information into your VSee Messenger app.

  1. Find the “Add Contact” Option:
  • Once you are logged into your VSee Messenger app, look for a way to add a new contact.
  • This is usually represented by a “+” (plus sign) icon, or sometimes a “Contacts” tab with an option to “Add Contact.”
  • Tap on the “+” sign or “Add Contact” option.
  1. Enter My Email Address:
  • When prompted to add a contact, you will be asked for an email address or a VSee ID.
  • Type in my email address exactly
  • Make sure there are no typos!
  1. Send the Contact Request:
  • After you type in the email address, tap the button to “Add” or “Send Request.”
  • This sends a request to me, letting me know you’ve added me. Once I accept, we will be connected in VSee Messenger, and you’ll see my name in your contact list.

Part 4: Preparing for Your Session with VSee Messenger

Once VSee is set up, here’s what to do when it’s time for our appointment:

  1. Open the VSee Messenger App:
  • At your appointment time, simply open the VSee Messenger app on your phone or tablet.
  1. Wait for My Call:
  • I will call you through the VSee Messenger app. Your phone will ring or show a notification indicating an incoming VSee call.
  • Answer the call.
  • If I Don’t Call You:
  • If you’ve been waiting for about 5 minutes past our appointment time and haven’t received a call from me, please don’t hesitate to call me. This might happen, but rest assured, we’ll connect for your support session.
