Why I Offer Self-Pay Therapy — Clear, Confidential, and Client-Centered Care

Therapy is most effective when it’s built around your needs—not dictated by insurance codes, arbitrary limits, or third-party approval. That’s why I offer self-pay therapy: to provide the highest level of privacy, flexibility, and control over your care.

Here’s how I define my approach to self-pay therapy: who it’s for, what changes clients often experience, and why this model creates a better therapeutic experience.

Who I Serve: My Ideal Client for Self-Pay Therapy

I work with individuals and couples who want high-quality, specialized therapy and are willing to invest in their mental health outside of the insurance system. Many of my clients have complex or sensitive concerns—such as relationship issues, sexual concerns, or high stress—that may not be well understood or adequately covered by insurance plans.

Others have had frustrating experiences with in-network therapy—limited session availability, minimal privacy, or therapists who were required to assign diagnoses that didn’t reflect the true nature of the work.

If you want therapy that’s truly centered around you, without the barriers and constraints of insurance, self-pay therapy may be the right fit.

From Frustrated to Empowered: What Happens When You Choose Self-Pay?

Clients who switch to self-pay therapy often tell me they feel a greater sense of relief and freedom. You’re no longer dependent on insurance companies to “approve” your mental health needs. You don’t have to worry about labels, session limits, or what gets shared in your records.

Instead, you gain clarity, consistency, and control. You can choose the therapist who’s the best fit for you—not just who’s in-network. You can focus on the work that matters, at your own pace, with full confidentiality.

When you invest in therapy on your own terms, you’re saying, “My mental health is a priority.” That commitment often leads to deeper, more meaningful progress.

How I Help: Confidential, Flexible, High-Quality Therapy

I provide private-pay therapy that is structured, supportive, and free from the limitations of managed care. You receive my full attention, personalized care, and practical strategies—without compromise.

Sessions are $160 and conducted via secure video conferencing. I also provide superbills for clients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement. This model gives you more freedom to focus on growth rather than red tape.

Whether we’re working on anger, anxiety, sex and intimacy, or relationship struggles, self-pay therapy allows us to dig deeper, work flexibly, and stay fully focused on your goals—not a checklist from an insurance company.

If you’re looking for therapy that’s private, personalized, and free from insurance limitations, self-pay therapy may be the right fit. I’d be honored to help you start that journey.
